FTA visits Connetquot Elementary Schools
The Future Teachers of America club members partnered with the Connetquot Drug and Alcohol Task Force to teach and promote positive behavior, how to be a good role model, and citizenship to the 2nd grade elementary school Connetquot students. The elementary students engaged in a read aloud and collaborative activities!
VAPE OUT!
The Suffolk County Office of Health Education will be implementing their Peer Education Training Program at Connetquot High School. This program prepares older students in becoming "Upstanders". "Upstanders" are trained to push into younger classrooms teaching connection, empathy, bullying, and vaping lessons. The young students learn empathy and response skills if faced with unhealthy choices. 16 Connetquot High School students will be trained on March 4th and then the program will be piloted in the 4th grade at Duffield Elementary School.
